mini octopus free crochet pattern
if you're a diver, you might like to crochet this cutesy mini octopus. it's super easy to make, and pretty much a beginner friendly pattern.

materials and tools:
- 3, 3.5, 4 mm hooks (the bigger your hook the bigger the octopus)
- milk cotton yarn
- sewing needle
- dacron for stuffing
- 8mm eyes
- stitch marker
- scissors
- keychain
abbreviations:
SC: single crochet
INC: increase (2 SC in 1 stitch)
DEC: decrease
MR: magic ring
INC: increase (2 SC in 1 stitch)
DEC: decrease
MR: magic ring
R: round
SS: slip stitch
HDC: half double crochet
CH: chain
(x): total stitches
we'll start from the head:
R1: 6 SC in MR (6)
R2: 6 INC (12)
R2: 6 INC (12)
R3: 6 (SC, INC) (18)
R4: 6 (2SC, INC) (24)
R5-8: 24 SC (24)
R9: 8 (SC, DEC) (16)
start stuffing
R10: 8 DEC (back loop only) (8)
place the eyes (or you can glue them later), attach the keychain, finish off.
tentacles:
attach the yarn to the front loop of round 9, then make 1 CH
make 5 HDC on the same stitch
SS to the next stitch
Repeat the process in the next stitch 7 times around so you have 8 tentacles
glue the eyes if you haven't and you can add the mouth or any expression by sewing black yarn.
and your octopus is finished!
