mini whale free crochet pattern
whale is probably my favorite sea creature. in the ocean, they're so majestic, but you can make a cute version of it yourself.

materials and tools:
- 3, 3.5, 4 mm hooks (the bigger your hook the bigger the whale)
- milk cotton yarn (white and another color of your choice)
- sewing needle
- dacron for stuffing
- 8mm eyes
- stitch marker
- scissors
- keychain
abbreviations:
SC: single crochet
INC: increase (2 SC in 1 stitch)
DEC: decrease
MR: magic ring
INC: increase (2 SC in 1 stitch)
DEC: decrease
MR: magic ring
R: round
SS: slip stitch
HDC: half double crochet
CH: chain
(x): total stitches
we'll start from the head:
R1: 6 SC in MR (6)
R2: 6 INC (12)
R2: 6 INC (12)
R3: 6 (SC, INC) (18)
R4: 6 (2 SC, INC) (24)
R5: 6 (3 SC, INC) (30)
R6-9: 30 SC (30)
don't cut the yarn yet, we're going to continue making the tail first.
tails:
make 5 CH on the last stitch
count the chain from the hook
make DC on the 3rd chain
make HDC on the 4th chain
make SS on the 5th chain
then SS on the next front loop and repeat the previous steps, then hide the leftover yarn inside the body.
belly using the white yarn:
attach white yarn between the tails and make 1 CH and 1 SC in the same stitch

make fins on the side of the body using the same color:
attach the yarn on the sides with the belly on top
make 1 CH and 1 SC to secure the yarn
make 4 more SC in the same stitch
cut off the yarn and hide it inside the body
and voila your cute whale is done!
